bergur þórisson is a grammy-nominated producer and engineer based in reykjavík, iceland. he trained as a classical trombonist, and it shapes how he works: he reads scores, thinks in arrangements, and hears music from the player’s side of the glass. his records move between acoustic and electronic worlds, and between scales, from solo piano to full symphony orchestra.
for the past decade, he has served as musical director for björk, working closely with her on recordings and world tours. it is one role among many, alongside records, scores and sessions for artists across classical, electronic and pop music.

the studio
a private studio in reykjavík for mixing, overdubs and solo-to-chamber recording. cadac g series console, steinway d, dolby atmos monitoring, and an extensive collection of microphones, instruments, synthesizers and outboard.
on location
orchestral and large-ensemble recording in concert halls worldwide, engineered on his own microphone and mobile recording system. sessions scale from chamber group to full symphony orchestra with choir.
